The Freedom of Information Act 2000

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies to all bodies and office holders identified as "public authorities" for the purpose of the Act. Millbrook Parish Meeting is one of those public authorities and is therefore required to adopt and maintain a publication scheme which has been approved by the Information Commissioner.

This publication scheme sets out the types of information the Parish Meeting is required to make available, how the information can be obtained and whether a charge will be made for the information.

The scheme adopted by Millbrook Parish Meeting has been approved by the Commissioner.

The Parish Meeting will make the information available in any one of the following ways:

  • available for inspection on request from the Clerk
  • a hard copy of the information may be supplied on request from the Clerk, for which a charge will be made
  • electronically, either from the village website or upon request from the Clerk.
  • Information published covers the following areas:

  • Minutes, Agendas or notes of Parish Meetings and Committee Meetings - see parish meeting news
  • Responses to Planning Applications (not yet available on the website)
  • Audit and Accounts documents - available for inspection or hard copy only
  • Other financial information, such as receipt/payment books, precept requests, etc - available for inspection or hard copy only
  • Responses made by the Parish Meeting to consultation papers - inspection, hard or electronic copies only
